besides和apart from
besides作为介词只有一个意义：“除……之外，还”。它表示“补充”、“包括”的意思。如：
What other subjects are you studying besides English？ 除了英语你还学习哪些课程？
而apart from是复合介词，有两个意义：
A. 表示“排除”、“例外”的含义。如：
1. No one knew that one of the aircraft"s engines had failed, apart from the pilot. 除了飞行员外，谁也不知道有一个发动机出故障了。
2. The children hardly see anyone, apart from their parents. 除了他们的父母，孩子们很少看见其他人。
B. 表示“包括”、“补充”的含义。如：
